Meet the Teachers

Meghan Kunz

Both enjoying and creating art are my ways to escape the stress of everyday life.  The creative process focuses all of my attention inward and onto the material with which I am working.  I am continually striving to find out who I am as an artist.  At a young age, I was very shy and had difficulty explaining myself to others.  As I grew up, I was constantly exploring my playful love of art through drawing and other creative endeavors.  Coincidentally, this helped me understand and interact with others, and ultimately is what inspired my creativeness.  As an artist I have found a way to share my imagination with others through a visual medium and create reality out of what would only be thought of as fantasy.

I was born and raised in Greeley, Colorado and moved to Fort Collins a little over a year ago! On top of being an artist, I am also an assistant softball coach at Fossil Ridge High 11836856_10101424956811937_8792718357587510613_nSchool and through the NC Sting Fast Pitch Softball Organization. I am currently working on receiving my Master of Education at Colorado State University. I received my Bachelor of Art from the University of Northern Colorado in 2011 in Fine Arts, my emphasis being painting.  Along with painting, I also love fiber arts, photography, and playing around with many other art mediums. Having art experiences and sharing them are both very important aspects in life. Everyone has art experiences every day, even if they don’t realize they are happening. Life is an art form in itself! Creating art and the education of art are two key facets that shape who I am, what I create, and how I express myself every day.
